Functional control surfaces: The model has movable elevators on the wings and a split rudder that serves as an air brake. Thanks to these details, the user can physically recreate the key phases of maneuvering the shuttle during its re-entry into the atmosphere.

Detailed crew cabin and cargo hold: After removing the cockpit fairing, we gain access to the deck with seats for five astronauts, and inside the hatch there is a movable manipulator arm (RMS) and a Ku-band antenna. These elements precisely reflect the configuration of the STS-31 mission and enable simulation of the deployment of payloads in space.
